Hi!, I’m Alexandra and I’m a self confessed food-aholic, self taught Cook and hopeless homemaker
Since I can remember I have always been a food-aholic since my early teens and had the yearning to cook great big meals for friends and family, even if it were just 3 of us! One of my fond memories was waking up on a Sunday morning, sneaking downstairs and whizzing up a cake so that when my parents came downstairs, they were pleasantly surprised with a fresh cake. Some Sundays were successful and some were a flop (with some Sunday’s waking up too late and not having time to bake).
I love the idea of preparing vegetables from ground to fork, growing organic produce, being self sufficient and enjoying the natural real taste of food – just how it should be. I cook and bake from scratch, it is the true passion when cooking to use fresh ingredients sourced locally and baked with love with the family.
This blog is similar to a scrapbook, sharing my life on a farm with you, sharing my family recipes held close to my heart. I have 2 ever so loving Golden Retrievers, Louie & Zorro who are my official taste testers and the most loving grease monkey of a mechanic I can call mine. Louie approves each and every egg that comes out of the chicken coop every morning and Zorro overseas all the goings on in and around the house. Together they are the Timau twins and never miss a beat.
Since moving to the farm that I now call home, it is my hope that my recipes, tips and advice can inspire you to spark some passion for family, food and fun in yours!
